Speaking at the handover ceremony, Vientiane Party Committee Secretary Anouphap Tounalom affirmed the Lao capital’s privileged relations with Hanoi and HCM City, expressing his belief that the two cities will soon overcome the difficulties. caused by COVID-19 to stabilize life and restore production. for socio-economic development.

Aid was mobilized by the authorities and the population of Vientiane, as well as by the Vietnamese community and businesses operating in the city, he added.

For his part, Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung thanked the delegation for its support even as Laos and Vientiane in particular also work to curb the spread of COVID-19.

He believed that the two major Vietnamese cities and Vientiane would further strengthen traditional relations and contribute to the great friendship, special solidarity and overall cooperation between the parties, states and peoples of the two countries.

The Vietnamese Embassy has so far received approximately $ 1.3 million from Laotian organizations and individuals to support Vietnam’s fight against COVID-19, including $ 500,000 in medical supplies. /.
