The judges are looking for the best HR and people management teams in the North East as the deadline for this year’s CIPD North East of England HR&D Awards approaches.
Now in its 15th year, the prestigious awards honor the very best of hard-working HR&D teams and individuals – especially those who have helped companies through the difficult times caused by the pandemic.
Taking place in June, this year’s event will be held face-to-face at the Fed in Gateshead, having gone virtual last year.
There are 10 categories available to enter, including Excellence in Supporting Armed Forces Talent, Excellence in Resourcing and Rewarding, and Excellence in Leadership.
Last year’s winners included Citizens Advice Gateshead, Claremont and Hinson Security Services.
Sponsors include Defense Relationship Management, Jackson Hogg, Lynn Bennett Resourcing, Newcastle University Business School, Northumberland County Council, People Spark Solutions, Sullivan Brown Resourcing Partners and Womble Bond Dickinson.
CIPD Northeast Branch Committee Co-Chairs Elouise Leonard-Cross and Sarah Carnegie said, “We’ve had a great response since launching our awards last month and people are especially thrilled to see the Fed recently renovated during the dinner on June 30, an emblematic place in the Northeast.
“The awards are free and give companies the chance to stop and reflect on what they have achieved, previous contestants have told us how helpful it can be in terms of pausing and capturing learning and the difference the program or initiative has made. Importantly, this also allows companies to showcase their excellent people practices to a wider audience, which helps an employer be more attractive to those looking for a job.
“We have been absolutely delighted with the responses from businesses keen to sponsor an award category, these awards have a great profile in the North East and beyond and allow us all to celebrate the region alongside positive practices. In addition to our sponsors, we will shortly be introducing our expert judges, professionals from across the region who will bring valuable additional expertise and knowledge – the regional network is strong and the level of interest and support received already shows how businesses are people-centric. the northeast are.
