The Fontana Unified School District has selected Dr. Douglas F. Staine, an established leader with more than 30 years of education experience, to serve as its new Associate Superintendent of Human Services.
Stain’s contract was approved by the Fontana Unified Board of Education at a meeting on April 20.
“I am deeply honored to have been chosen to join the superintendent and his team of dedicated educators,” Stain said. “I look forward to working with these amazing people and contributing to the work of providing the highest level of educational services to our students and their families. »
Stain began his education career in 1990 as a teacher and counsellor; since then he has held various positions in California school districts and in the Los Angeles County Office of Education. Stain honed his skills as a school psychologist, overseeing special education and student services, and served as the director and deputy superintendent of human resources for the past 17 years.
Stain’s success as an education leader has earned him numerous accolades, including awards from the California Association of African American Superintendents and Administrators recognizing his contributions as an administrator and naming him Administrator of the Year. .
Stain is also a licensed school psychologist. He holds a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology, a master’s degree in school psychology, and a student personnel services diploma, all from Cal State Los Angeles, as well as an administrative diploma from Cal State Long Beach and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Southern California.
